Inclusion Criteria:

- Patients >= 18 years old undergoing total hip arthroplasty or hip hemiarthroplasty

Exclusion Criteria:

- Refusal of blood transfusions

- Surgeons utilizing "fast track" protocols (planned discharge on postoperative day 1 or
2 following surgery.)
