Intervention(s)
Group 1: "Lubo from the universe" is a classroom-based social training for preschool children in kindergarten focusing social and emotional skills in 34 sessions of 30-40 minutes duration - three times per week – in groups of nine to 14 preschool children over a period of 4-6 months.
Group 2: The untrained control group got preschool education as usual.
Primary Outcome(s)
Main outcome measures at posttest and follow-up: Social-cognitive problem solving strategies assessed by the child centered Wally Social Skills and Problem Solving Game (Wally; Webster-Stratton 1990).
Secondary Outcome(s)
Further outcome measures: improvement of prosocial behavior assessed by the kindergarten teacher with Preschool Social Behavior Questionnaire (PSBQ; Tremblay et al., 1992) and reduction of problematic externalizing and internalizing behavior assessed by the kindergarten teacher with Preschool Social Behavior Questionnaire (PSBQ) and the Caregiver-Teacher Report Form (C-TRF).
