Key inclusion & exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Primary diagnosis of schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder, or Schizophreniform disorder (DSM IV TR)

2. Aged between 18-50 years.

3. Currently receiving treatment on outpatient basis

4. Maintained on the same dosage of medication in the two months prior to recruitment into the study and not been hospitalized in the two months prior to entry into the study

5. Minimum education up to Class V

6. English or Hindi speaking

7. Availability of a caregiver with whom patient is in contact


Exclusion criteria: . Inpatients.

. Co-morbid neurological conditions, history of head injury.

.Co-morbid Axis I diagnosis of substance dependence syndrome, or current psychoactive substance abuse (except nicotine dependence), severe depression with psychotic symptoms.

.Mental retardation on clinical assessment.

.Patients who have undergone neuropsychological assessment in the six months prior to entry into the study.

Patients who have received cognitive remediation or structured psychological therapy or social skills training in the past one year.

Patients who have received electro-convulsive treatment (ECT) in the six months prior to being recruited for the present study.
