Exclusion criteria: Severe systemic disease,
Pregnancy,
Periodontal:
- Probing depth (abutment teeth) = 5
- Bleeding on probing = 50%
- Plaque index = 50%
Dental:
- Non-vital abutment teeth, not root-treated
- Root-treated abutment teeth treated with periapical change,
bruxism

Loss of teeth due to accident, extraction or local periodontal disease
Intervention(s)
Group 1: All-ceramic zirconia posterior bridges
Group 2: Metal-ceramic posterior bridges
Primary Outcome(s)
Clinical and radiological examination of the integrity of the posterior bridges (test - and control) and the biological and technical behavior after 1, 3, and 5 years
Secondary Outcome(s)
Examination of the integrity and the biological and technical results of both types of bridges after 10 and 15 years.
