Roberto Lede completed his MD in 1964 and his PhD in 1982 at the University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1991 he became Associate Professor of Obstetrics. He is currently working as a clinical researcher at the National Council of Scientific Research and Technology of Argentina. He is coordinating some large clinical trials in Latin America and he is the Director of the Argentine Institute of Evidence Based Medicine. He is also member of the teaching staff for Spanish-speaking groups of the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine, Oxford University, Oxford, United Kingdom. His research interests include evidence from randomized controlled trials in obstetrics and clinical diagnostic test evaluation. He is especially active in teaching activities aimed at introducing epidemiology and evidence-based medicine in medical settings.
