Dr Cristina Palacios is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Nutrition Program within the Department of Human Development of the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Before joining the University of Puerto Rico, she was the Technical Coordinator of the non-profit organization PreNatal. She has over 15 publications in the area of calcium and other micronutrients. Dr. Palacios received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela, and a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA in 1998. She received her PhD in Nutrition alo from Purdue University in 2001 and continued her postdoctoral training in the same institution.
