Syeda Batool Mazhar, MBBS (Pakistan), FRCOG (United Kingdom), FCPS (Pakistan), is Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the MCH Centre, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and the Quaid-i-Azam Postgraduate Medical College, Islamabad. She is also a Faculty Member at the Federal Medical and Dental College and Health Services Academy, Islamabad. Between 2004 and 2008, Dr Mazhar served as a research collaborator with McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in a project entitled Genetic Testing in Familial Recurrent Hydatidiform Mole, which involved discovery of new gene sequence. She is the Country Coordinator of ongoing WHO Multi-country Maternal and Newborn Survey and has been an external expert for WHO Technical Consultation on guidelines for prevention and management of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia and postpartum haemorrhage. She is also the Principal Investigator at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences of the Women World Maternal Antifibrinolytic Trial being conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London United Kingdom. Dr Mazhar is currently the Chief Editor of Annals of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Vice President of the Pakistan Menopause Society. She is an active member of Guideline Committee of Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Pakistan. Her special interests include maternal health and menopause.
