Bukola Fawole is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, and Honorary Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He subspecializes in perinatal medicine. He is particularly interested in the application of evidence-based research findings to optimize maternal and perinatal outcomes. He seeks opportunities to generate reliable evidence through collaboration in international randomized trials in high priority reproductive health issues and synthesis of research findings in systematic reviews produced by the Cochrane Collaboration. Dr Fawole is a WHO Master Trainer in Evidence-based Reproductive Health Care. He is involved in scaling up of utilization of evidence-based practice in Africa through teaching of evidence-based healthcare to diverse groups of health care professionals at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Fawole is involved in international collaboration in reproductive health research. He is the country coordinator in Nigeria for the World Health Organization’s Multicountry Survey on Maternal and Newborn Health. He is currently involved in multi-country research on endometriosis and women’s health, misoprostol for incomplete abortion and prevention and treatment of postpartum haemorrhage. He is also the Focal Point in Nigeria for The WHO Reproductive Health Library.
