Daynia Ballot is Associate Professor specializing in neonatology at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She obtained her medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1982 and her PhD degree from the same university in 1989. She has published 38 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her main fields of interest are neonatal sepsis, perinatal asphyxia and outcomes in high-risk neonates.
