Hany Abdel-Aleem

Dr Hany Abdel-Aleem is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women's Health Centre, University Hospital, Assiut, Egypt. His main research interest is in maternal health, particularly safe motherhood. He has been principal investigator of several randomized controlled trials evaluating a labour partogram and using prostaglandins during the third stage of labour. He has participated in the WHO multicentre trial evaluating the use of calcium supplementation for the prevention of preeclampsia among low calcium intake women and in WHO multicentre trial evaluating misoprostol for treatment of postpartum hemorrhage. He has authored Cochrane reviews and is a member of the Pregnancy and Childbirth, and Fertility and Regulation groups.
