Brazil. The Secretária de Vigilância Sanitária recommended with effect from 14 October 1997 the temporary suspension of the manufacture, importation and sale of anorectic agents containing fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine separately or in combination with other anorectic agents. This action was based on studies carried out both in Brazil and the USA.
