SCMS supports HIV/AIDS programs in 15 countries to ensure a continuous supply of commodities to meet the need for testing, care and treatment. Key to our approach is performing national quantifications, including 24-month rolling forecasts and supply plans for each country. In May, SCMS staff from Botswana, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia attended a two-week training in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to build their capacity in forecasting and supply planning and acquire skills to support their role in the demand planning process. Local counterparts from the Ethiopia Ministry of Health, the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT and RPM Plus also participated. Training focused on quantification tools, the fundamentals of demand planning, and SCMS’s order fulfillment lifecycle.
