Abstract
The increasing demand for medicinal plants and the products derived from them has led to concerns over their safety and efficacy. The evaluation of herbal medicines and the use of registration and regulation to ensure their safety and efficacy present important challenges.
This document describes experiences from 52 countries in formulating policies on herbal medicines and introducing measures for their regulation and registration.
