sodium salt of depolymerised heparin obtained by a controlled chemical process based on generation of free radicals by means of metal ions and hydrogen peroxide. The heparin starting material is obtained from porcine intestinal mucosa. The process results in oligosaccharide fragments of heparin of varying lengths. The average relative molecular mass is about 3200 Daltons, ranging from2250 to 3850 Daltons. The degree of sulfation is approximately 2.5 sulfate residues per disaccharide unit.
