7.3 Review of the use of the “square box” symbol

The Committee noted that, at present, a relatively large number of items on the Model List are listed with a square box symbol and recommended that a review be undertaken with a view to restricting its use. In cases where it is decided that the square box symbol should be maintained, the equivalent alternative medicines should be specified.
