benazepril

angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor

New indication: Renal insufficiency.

filgrastim

Neupogen, Roche: New Zealand

solution for injection 0.3 mg/ml

non-glycosylated recombinant methionyl human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF)

Extended indications: Prophylaxis of infections associated with severe neutropenia in children at risk (for example, patients undergoing cytostatic therapy for non-myeloid cancer, or those with severe idiopathic or congenital neutropenia). Note: Already approved in adults.

Zoton, Lederle: New Zealand

capsule 30 mg

antisecretory agent

New indication: Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with a peptic ulcer or gastritis, in combination with appropriate antibiotics.

omeprazole

New indication: Gastric and duodenal ulcers and/or erosions associated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

pantoprazole

cholinergic antisecretory agent; antiulcer agent

New indications: Long-term maintenance treatment of reflux oesophagitis; as part of triple therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori associated with peptic ulcer disease.
