clomipramine Anafranil: Ciba-Geigy: Germany

tablet 10-mg, 25-mg; slow-release tablet 75-mg

tricyclic antidepressant

New indications: Depressive syndrome; obsessional neuroses; long-term treatment of pain as adjunctive therapy; cataplexy, hallucinations induced by narcolepsy. Anafranil 10-mg and 25-mg only: functional nocturnal enuresis (from 5 years of age and after exclusion of organic causes) as adjunctive therapy.

New indications: Treatment of confirmed symptomatic endometriosis when suppression of ovarian hormones is indicated and when surgery is excluded; symptomatic uterus myomatosus when suppression of ovarian hormones is indicated to reduce the volume of myomas prior to surgery; atrophy of the endometrium before a scheduled ablation.
