Nicotine chewing gum: available for general sale: UK

United Kingdom. Nicotine 2-mg chewing gum for use for the relief of nicotine withdrawal symptoms as an aid to smoking cessation is available for general sale as from 31 March 1999. Previously it was sold in pharmacies without prescription.
