Germany. The Federal Institute of Drugs and Medical Devices has withdrawn the marketing authorization for an ionic contrast medium containing lysine amidotriazoate (PeritrastR-180/36%), since new large-scale studies show that low osmolar non-ionic contrast media have a much lower risk potential than high osmolar ionic contrast media, including PeritrastR-180/36%, and therefore the use of these products can no longer be justified.
