AbstractA self-assessment manual for health managers who have not had professional training in administration, accounting, or planning. The manual is designed to help managers assess their own performance and identify areas where extra study or extra effort could improve managerial efficiency. These include the setting of priorities, the determination of the most effective way to reach short- and long-term goals, the delegation of tasks and supervision of staff, the evaluation and monitoring of programme performance, and the organization of continuing education. The book concludes with a set of five questionnaires intended for use in securing feedback from colleagues.
