Other TitlesReport of a meeting national TB control programme managers and partners,Bangkok,THA 23-27 Sep 2013
AbstractMeetings of the National TB Control Programme (NTP) managers have been held bi-annually since the beginning of the scale-up of DOTS in the Region. These meetings have, in a steadfast manner, provided a strategic forum for exchange of information on existing and new, innovative approaches being applied in countries, for discussions on technical issues, and to follow up on actions taken on the recommendations of previous meetings, resulting in valuable advice for developing policies, strategies and plans for implementation of TB control interventions in Member countries. NTP managers from all 11 Member countries of the South-East Asia Region and representatives from donors, partners, as well as WHO regional and country staff, participated in the meeting and discussed extensively various issues including the importance of current priorities such as ensuring universal access to high-quality TB control services and scaling up programmatic management of drug-resistant TB.
