dc.description.abstractOver the years, WHO's collaborative activities with its Member States in the South-East Asia Region have addessed priority issues in health development. The main objective has been to ensure equity and social justice in the provision of health care, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable groups. As Highlights of the work of WHO in the South-East Asia Region, 1 July 2008-31 August 2009, shows, significant progress has been made on several fronts but there are many challenges that need to be overcome. The report also serves as a useful information product for all those interested in health development and in WHO's work in the South-East Asia Region.en_US
