Regional seminar on strengthening country capacity in management of international health activities

Abstract
Description: This publication is the report of the Regional Seminar on Strengthening Country Capacity in Management of International Health Activities, which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 16-18 August 2010. Delegates from Member States, along with staff from WHO country offices of the SEA Region, discussed and identified challenges for the management of international health activities at country level and the ways to address those challenges. Panel discussions were held on: aid management; global health initiatives; international health diplomacy; and collaboration with UN and other international agencies. A separate panel discussion was also held on the Nepal case study on coordinating the work of external development partners (EDP) and the Policy, Planning and International Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal. Based on group discussions, country strategic plans and the Regional Strategic Plan for 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 were developed to strengthen country capacity in the management of international health activities.Citation
