Abstract: The book provides details on the HIV/AIDS situation for each country in the Asia Pacific region. Countries are presented in descending order, starting with countries with the highest estimated HIV prevalence rate to those countries with the lowest estimated HIV prevalence rates. The HIV/AIDS situation in each country is presented, along with an estimate of the annual number of AIDS deaths that can be expected in the years 2000 and 2005. In this report, annual AIDS deaths are calculated based on a standard median survival interval for 9 years.
