Guidelines on methadone therapy in Myanmar for prescribers and dispensers
View/ Open
Abstract
These guidelines are divided into two separate parts: one for prescribers and one for dispensers. They are bound in one volume to enable ready access to the guidelines, thereby enhancing coordination and cooperation between the practices of both professional groups. The book should be wire-bound for easy access to the information relevant to practice. The guidelines have been prepared by practitioners with expertise in the use of methadone to treat opioid dependence. They are intended to assist medical practitioners and dispensers to treat opioid-dependent patients in a safe and effective manner. The guidelines are general recommendations and are provided for information purposes only. The guidelines cannot provide detailed direction in respect to the management of every patient in every clinical situation, and do not constitute specific treatment advice. Individual medical practitioners and dispensers are responsible for decisions about the safety and effectiveness of treatment used for each patient. The guidelines are not intended to replace professional judgement in individual cases.Citation
