|Abstract:||Description: The Eighth Meeting of National Programme Managers for Elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) from nine endemic countries in the WHO South-East Asia Region, was held on 26-27 April 2011 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. At the meeting, the LF programme managers discussed progress in implementing mass drug administration (MDA) and identified key issues for further support. The participants deliberated in depth on issues related to scaling up MDA, management of severe adverse events, stopping MDA as per the LF TAS manual of WHO 2011, disability alleviation and integrated approaches. The meeting concluded with recommendations to Member States to scale up MDA and expand disability alleviation services. This report presents a synopsis of the deliberations held at the meeting and its recommendations.|
