Draft Proposed Programme Budget 2012-2013: Regional Committee Version

Abstract

1.The draft Proposed programme budget 2012–2013 is submitted to the Regional Committees for discussion and comment. 2.Throughout the document, references to the Programme budget 2008–2009 and Programme budget 2010–2011 are to the biennial budgets approved by the Health Assembly in resolutions WHA60.12 and WHA62.9 respectively. References to “implementation for 2008–2009” relate to the expenditures and encumbrances reported in the Programme budget 2008–2009 performance assessment (document A63/29). 3.The draft Proposed programme budget includes revisions of some indicators found within the amended Medium-term strategic plan that was endorsed by the Health Assembly in resolution WHA62.11 in May 2009. Throughout the document, underlining indicates the changes from the amended Medium-term strategic plan. The elements that were formerly entitled “Targets by 2011” in the amended Medium-term strategic plan have been replaced in the draft Proposed programme budget with a new element entitled “Baselines 2012”. Many of the baselines and targets to be achieved by 2013 have been updated to reflect the findings of the Programme budget 2008–2009 performance assessment.
