|Abstract:||The Tenth General Programme of Work will cover a period of six years i.e. from 2002-2007. In the preparation of the Tenth GPW, the global health policy "Health for All in the 21S' century" has been extensively consulted. It includes four policy orientations, namely: (1) Capacity-strengthening for HFA, (2) Collective action for global health, (3) Protection and promotion of human health, and (4) Building and maintaining sustainable health systems. The World Health Assembly is due to approve the Tenth GPW in May 1999 on the basis of a draft reviewed by the Regional Committees in September 1998, and by the Executive Board in January 1999. The Regional Committee is, therefore, requested to review the document and provide comments in the light of regional perspective, if any, as this will form the practical basis of WHO collaboration with the Member States during 2002-2007.|
