SEA/RC58/17 - Review of the draft provisional agendas of the 117th session of the executive board and the fifty-ninth world health assembly
AbstractThe 117th session of the WHO Executive Board will be held in Geneva from 23 to 28 January 2006. The Draft Provisional Agenda of the 117th session of the WHO Executive Board is attached. It may be noted that Agenda item 8.3 covers provisional agenda of the Fiftyninth World Health Assembly. The procedure for developing this Draft Provisional Agenda complies with the amendment to Rule 8 of the Rules of Procedure of the Executive Board, adopted by the Board at its 112th session. Any proposal from a Member State or Associate Member to include an item on the agenda should reach the Director-General not later than 10 weeks before the commencement of the session of the Executive Board, that is by 14 November 2005. A balance has to be achieved between the duration of the session and the number of items proposed for the Agenda. Thereafter, the Director-General will draw up the provisional agenda in consultation with officers of the Executive Board. The provisional agenda will be annotated and explain any deferral or exclusion of proposals made. It will be despatched to Member States with the letter of convocation eight weeks before commencement of the relevant session of the Executive Board. The Draft Provisional Agenda is placed before the Regional Committee for its consideration and noting.
