    The annual birth cohort in the WHO South-East Asia Region is estimated at about 40 million. In 2011 the regional diphtheria–tetanus–pertussis (‎DTP3)‎ coverage was only 75%, and WHO estimates that about 9 million children miss out on the most basic package of immunization.
