|Authors:||World Health Organization, Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean|
|Abstract:||The Informal Consultation on Noise Pollution, held in Amman 2 to 5 September 1991 was the first activity of its kind in the Region. The aim was to introduce and promote the understanding of the problems of noise pollution, its measurement, control and impacts on health as well as to encourage the development of national strategies, legislation, approaches, standards and regulations. This document includes working papers and lectures prepared and presented by the experts during the Informal Consultation on Noise Pollution. It is hoped that the document will serve as a supplemental study material in educational curricula as well as in training programmes for professionals in the ministries of health, environment and development as well as NGOs involved in the area of noise pollution|
