Abstract: The 7th workshop of National/Regional WHO health promoting Hospital Network Coordinators took place in Copenhagen, on 16 May 2001 in conjunction with the 9th International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals. It was organized by the WHO European Office for Integrated Health Care Services (Barcelona, Spain). The participants of the meetings were the National/Regional WHO Health Promoting Hospitals' Network Coordinators in the European Region, representatives of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Health Promotion and Hospitals, and WHO staff. The meeting addressed various issues related to the future development and management of the WHO WHO International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals. Reports on the state of the National/ Regional Networks were distributed in hard copies. For the first time reports were not presented orally. A template for standardized documentation of networks progress was discussed and a first draft approved. Also, the final draft of the questionnaire to register interventions /projects in hospitals was discussed and approved. In addition, two specific working groups to expand the evidence-base for health promotion projects and activities in hospitals were established, one on quality and indicators for HPH, which will be coordinated by Dr Svend Juul Jr̜gensen (Bispebjerg Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark) and the other on implementation of HPH policies and strategies by Professor Jürgen Pelikan (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for the Sociology of Medicine, Vienna, Austria)
