Time to talk about action : International Public Health Congress - Health21 in Action, Istanbul, Turkey 8-12 October 2000
AbstractThe International Congress was co-organized by the Turkish Society of Public Health Specialists, the Ministry of Health of Turkey and WHO. It focused on the public health challenges for the new millennium : putting health at the heart of development, putting the emphasis on social and economic determinants of health, and promoting the creation of new partnerships for health and health care. The Congress provided a forum in which policy-makers and practitioners could : share the vision of health for all in the twenty-first century; update their knowledge of modern technology in public health; exchange experience of innovations in public health across the WHO European Region around the world; explore the future role of and potential for action for public health in Europe and beyond; and enhance cooperation between public health professionals of different countries
