WHO European Region Interagency Coordinating Committee (ICC) : 3rd meeting focusing on tuberculosis : report, Sinaia, Romania 29-30 September 2004
AbstractTB is out of control in many countries in the WHO European Region. The number of cases reported is increasing, and this is accompanied by a frightening rise in the incidence of MDR-TB and TB/HIV. The problem is compounded by inadequate political commitment, inadequate infrastructure, inadequate implementation of effective TB control strategies in many countries, and inadequate financial support. The Interagency Coordinatign Committee met for the third time in Sinaia, Romania, 29-30 September 2004, to discuss major challenges for TB control in the Region and identify coordinated response by WHO and international partner organizations and donors involved in TB control in EUR. The report provides information on major issues discussed, presents the meeting conclusions and recommendations
