Welcome to the Global Health Observatory

The GHO data repository provides access to over 50 datasets on priority health topics including mortality and burden of diseases, the Millennium Development Goals (child nutrition, child health, maternal and reproductive health, immunization, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected diseases, water and sanitation), non communicable diseases and risk factors, epidemic-prone diseases, health systems, environmental health, violence and injuries, equity among others.
In addition, the GHO provides on-line access to WHO's annual summary of health-related data for its 194 Member states: the World Health Statistics 2011.

Find your health data easily:

The 'Find Indicator' button is on the top of the left-hand menu. Type the keyword into that text box and click the magnifying glass icon. To erase the word you typed, click 'Reset'. The results will show in the left-hand menu. Click on any indicator to generate a table in the middle of the browser.
To search for related indicators under broad headings, click on the any of the categories on the left-hand menu. A folder signals a category; closed means that it is expandable , open means that the subcategories are listed below. A paper icon signals a subcategory; clicking on it will show a list of indicators. An arrowhead signals indicators; clicking on this will generate a table in the middle of the browser.

Disclaimer

Many of these datasets represent the best estimates of WHO using methodologies for specific indicators that aim for comparability across countries and time; they are updated as more recent or revised data become available, or when there are changes to the methodology being used. Therefore, they are not always the same as official national estimates, although WHO whenever possible will provide Member States the opportunity review and comment on data and estimates as part of country consultations. Please check the Indicator and Measurement Registry for indicator specific information.
