The Seventieth World Health Assembly was held at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, from 22 to 31 May 2017, in accordance with the decision of the Executive Board at its 139th session.1 The theme for the general discussion in plenary meetings was “Advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: building better systems for health”.2
