In Bangladesh in 2007, more than 60,000 injured people could not access care because health facilities were destroyed by floods and cyclones.
In Gujarat, India, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake destroyed 3812 health facilities leading to a total collapse of the health infrastructure in Kutch district (the worst affected) at a time when over 186,036 people needed immediate medical help.
