This Concise International Chemical Assessment Document (CICAD) is a compendium of evaluations of the scientific literature on the health and environmental effects of three glycol ethers:- 2-methoxyethanol, 2-ethoxyethanol, 2-propoxyethanol and 2-butoxyethanol. These 2-alkoxyethanols are used in various industrial and workplace processes such as solvents and coatings. Exposure of humans is mainly through occupational exposure.
Along with evaluations of these individual 2-alkoxyethanols, this compendium also presents a comparison of the key end-points across the group in an overall summary.
