A collection of eight original research reports derived from a project aimed at identifying and testing ways to rationalize and improve the home treatment of malaria using existing oral antimalarials. Malaria experts involved in the project were unanimous in the view that increased benefits from currently available antimalarials could best be achieved by focusing on improving drug quality, prescribing practices, and patient compliance with full multidose drug combinations or monotherapy.
