| Summary |
Tapping WHO's archive collections, WHO Press has developed five series of photographs, each consisting of ten historical images taken by well-known photographers. The photographs illustrate some of the work of WHO, as well as the efforts of dedicated health personnel to improve the health and living conditions of populations around the world.
The 5 photograph series portray:
Africa: Nurse training (Monique Jacot)
Americas: Health services in the Far North of Canada (Paul Almasy)
Middle East: The work of Dr Luigi Mara to fight malaria (Edouard Boubat)
Europe: The work of Dr Edmond in rural France (Robert Doisneau)
Asia: Polio rehabilitation in Japan (Hisomu Mase and Dominique Darbois)
